2022, Aluminum and LED lights

“Dahlia” is a continuation of Studio Lesec’s flower series, which re-conceptualizes organic form through the transformative quality of LED light. The petals of the flower are rendered in perforated aluminum and become translucent when struck by LED light source. The layered overlap of each petal encourages the transfer of color from foreground to background and visa-versa, dissolving figuration at times and reinforcing it at others.
