Full Metal Poppy

Standing over 25’ tall, “Full Metal Poppy” is a reconceptualization of organic form. The piece features a sketch-like quality that peels apart a flower’s anatomy, giving a solid appearance from some vantage points and an ephemeral elusiveness from others. Programmable color-changing LED lights reinforce this perceptual reading by tracing the outlines of the vase and flower petals with a glowing geometric frame.

This project reminds the viewer of our connection to nature as well as our responsibility to protect it in an uncertain future.
